Garmin branches out with the “nuvi”

Garmin introduced a new product today, the nuvi, billed as…

"a Personal Travel Assistant™ that combines a GPS navigator, language translator and travel guide capability, an MP3 player, an audio book player, a currency and measurement converter, a world clock, and a digital photo organizer – all in one slim, sleek, and easy-to-use device."

Their press release provides more details. Looks like Garmin is expanding their market.

    Mapsource registry problems
    ————————————————————————
I’ve recently installed mapsource trip and waypoint manager v2. When I attempt to open program, I first get the programs intro screen which is interruptec by the following error message: “There is a problem with the mapsource registry. Please re-install mapsource’.
Further installation attempts produce the following successive 3 messages:
1 Detailed existing mapsource application already exists…press ok to continue
2 Same version maps installed…setup will exit
3 Wizard was interrupted. Mapsource could not be completely installed.
I’ve tried rolling back to a restore point. Same messages. I’ve also compared file contents with mapsource succesfully installed on another computer and they match.
    Any thoughts?
