3-D buildings on your GPS screen?
January 31, 2006 by Rich Owings

TeleAtlas, data supplier for TomTom, is planning to offer 3-D maps of major European and American cities by the end of 2006. The imagery will include buildings, as seen at left. TeleAtlas uses six cameras to capture imagery as they update road data, and they have hundreds of employees working on this project, according to a report by My TomTom GO. It is unclear yet which GPS manufacturers will be the first to embrace this new data.
