Garmin ventures into location-based services
March 3, 2006 by Rich Owings

Garmin has ventured into location-based services with their SaversGuide, a sort of location-sensitive, electronic coupon book. Their partner in this appears to be entertainment.com, which publishes paper versions.
Currently compatible only with the nuvi, the SaversGuide comes on an SD card. Perhaps we’ll see future compatibility in some of Garmin’s other mobile units with SD slots.
