That could be the headline soon, according to this story which puts some numbers to Garmin’s production of the nuvi:
"Garmin International expects to deliver 1.4-1.6 million of its Nuvi car-use GPS (global positioning system) portable navigation devices (PNDs) this year, accounting for 25-35% of all of its GPS products, according to industry sources in Taiwan.
All of Garmin GPS consumer products are produced by Garmin Corporation, Garmin International’s Taiwan subsidiary, the sources indicated. The subsidiary shipped 921,000 GPS devices in the first quarter of this year and expanded its production capacity with the start of its second factory last month, the sources noted. The subsidiary is expected to ship five million GPS devices this year, with more than 20% to be car-use PNDs, the sources added."
And if you’re one of those 1.4-1.6 million buyers of a nuvi, don’t forget that one of our favorite suppliers, GPSNow.com, has one heck of a deal on the nuvi 360 right now.
