It’s official, Garmin has announced the nuvi 660. The new features that build upon the nuvi 360 are:
- A larger touchscreen (4.3 inches)
- An integrated traffic receiver with three months of free service. After that, 15 months is $60.
- An integrated FM transmitter that routes MP3s, bluetooth-enabled cell phone calls, audio books and spoken turn-by-turn directions through the vehicle’s speakers. The entertainment functions are automatically muted when directions are given.
In Europe, the nuvi 610 will feature regional coverage, while the nuvi 660 will have continent-wide maps.
U.S. availability is expected in September 2006.
