Looks like TomTom Car Connect could be one solution. I bet the folks at Garmin are looking into whether or not TomTom has a patent on this.
- A kid tracking cell phone makes Toys “R” US’s “Hot Toy list” for the holidays.
- There has been a price drop on the TomTom GO 910.
- Visual evidence of the tragedy in Darfur via Google Earth.
- WikiLoc, a site that allows you to download (and upload) GPS tracks and waypoints, was the grand prize winner in a Spanish Google Maps mashups contest.
- Trimble has a new athletic tracking product for cellphones – AllSport GPS, which works on some Sprint and Nextel phones.
- Amazon’s A9 has dropped their mapping and BlockView programs. I guess they decided not to go after Google and Microsoft.
- Big aerial imagery update for Google Maps and Google Earth. It even includes imagery from last month’s Burning Man event and sub-Antarctic islands.
- Are location based services (LBS) about to finally take off?
- Check out the 24 Hours of Moab mountain bike race on Google Earth.
