Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, this has been a relatively calm week, but I do have a little bit of news and updates from the world of GPS (and maps)…

I’ve updated the following GPS reviews this week.

Hardware

Firmware and software

• A reminder to update your GPS firmware. We’ve covered this topic before.
• Garmin has posted firmware updates in the past week for the nuvi 310,
  360, 610 and 660, the zumo 550 and the StreetPilot 2720, 2730, 7200 and
  7500. Via Allory.
• Improve the time to first fix (TTFF) on your TomTom.

• TeleNav GPS Navigator works on many Treos, as well as some Cingular cell phones, including the Nokia E62.
• Nokia, Navicore and NAVTEQ tackle GPS cell phone navigation for the Middle East.
