Garmin has announced that Garmin Training Center software is now compatible with Mac OS X. Garmin will be distributing complimentary CDs at Macworld from January 8-12. Most users will need to wait until late January 2007 though, when they will be able to download the software for free at http://www.garmin.com/products/trainingcenter. Garmin Training Center software is compatible with Garmin’s Forerunner and Edge series of fitness GPS receivers.
Previously, Garmin had announced that it intended to make all its hardware and software Mac compatible by the end of 2006, but they have missed that target. MotionBased.com, owned by Garmin, has been supporting Macs since March 2006.

Whatever. It’s only been a year since Garmin committed to a Mac version of its software for its other handhelds. Sounds like they’ve taken a page from Microsoft.
i’ve been waiting for mac support for quite some time.
i bought a new garmin unit, expecting garmin to keep up to the promise, but i guess they had a lot of work and couldn’t do it…
maybe i should have gone with another brand.
Yeah, Garmin has been bad about over-promising on delivery dates, though they have improved on that a little when it comes to announcing new hardware.
Just a quick follow up for a mac user who finds this page … It is now 2008 and they still only have beta versions of most of their software. Training Center only supports a handful of devices from Garmin.
