Sure, your GPS isn’t perfect, and you have to pair its directions with a healthy dose of common sense, but at least it usually gets the countries right!
I’m sure Mio will fix their website shortly, so enjoy it while you can. And while I doubt that this carries over to their GPS receivers, it sure is funny. More hilarious map screenshots after the jump. Via Digg.

Mio to World: France Moved
If you own a Mio GPS product, you might want to pull over for directions. Because according to their website, France moved to Finland. So who gets to be France??…
Europe gets reorganized
France is Finland, Germany is France, Italy is Germany, Sweden is Poland, Spain is Norway, Switzerland is Portugal, according to Mio, which is an Mitac brand, a company who just bought Navman. Help. More >…
Some confusion here:
The first picture doesn’t show France, it shows Switzerland.
second shows is not Germany, it’s Sweden
3rd shows not Italy, but Spain.
4th shows not Spain, but Germany
5th shows not Sweden, but France
6th shows not Switzerland, but Ireland.
Who the heck tought you Geographics?
Kind regards
Peter
I think it´s clear that something went wrong with the internal indexes of that software… So it´s only funny at the first glance.
Seems fixed now. Except for Slovakia which is still “undefined”
hey peter
Who the heck tought you Geographics?
you’re right when saying that they don’t show what they claim to, but they definitely don’t show what you think they do!
so check a map and next time think before you write!
kind regards

Well I also have GPS system in my cellular phone and it’s not very good so this is a really helpful tip.
Hey Peter, who taught you to spell tought? And Geographics? It’s called Geography!
It’s kind of ironic that the first person to comment on Mio getting all the countries wrong got them all wrong himself. But then again, maybe it’s expected. =)
The first picture does not show Switzerland, nor does it show France. You are both wrong. It shows Finland! As a matter of fact, you got them all wrong. (On purpose?)
First != France, = Finland
Second != Germany, = France
Third != Italy, = Germany
Fourth != Spain, = Sweden
Fifth != Sweden, = Poland
Sixth != Switzerland, = Portugal.
Either your map software is lousy, or you are lousy in Geography, or else you wanted to imitate MIO with your own results.
