Waypoints – May 27, 2007

May 27, 2007 by

It’s been a bit of slow week in terms of GPS news. Nevertheless, here are the links I’ve collected for you…

Garmin

NAVTEQ and TeleAtlas

  • Real-time traffic video from NAVTEQ. How long before we see that on our GPS?
  • Curious about what gets changed in NAVTEQ map updates? Here’s a site where you can find out. Via GpsPasSion.
  • If your requested update isn’t included yet, don’t hold your breath.
  • NAVTEQ maps
the Smithsonian and the National Zoo. I imagine this is part of a
location-based services strategic initiative designed to have NAVTEQ be
a gateway to deep and rich content.
  • TeleAtlas to deliver more accurate ETAs via partnership with Inrix. More details here.

Many enjoy the Garmin Nuvi 660 GPS for the features it offers like Bluetooth compatible, Hands Free Calls, and the FM Traffic Receiver over Tom Tom and the rest.
