Mexico GPS Atlas for Garmin receivers

BiciMapas has released the Mexico GPS Atlas for Garmin receivers. It is being sold in the U.S. via Mexico Maps of Santa Barbara, CA.

It appears that the product offers auto-routing where adequate coverage exists, and only point to point routing in other cases. Priced at $190, the Mexico GPS Atlas offers street-level maps of 44 cities (listed below).

Over 45,000 points of interest (POIs) are included. Topographic contours are shown as well — 50 meter (164 Ft) for the Baja Peninsula and 100 meter (328 Ft) interval for the remainder of the country.

This product competes directly with Garmin City Select Mexico NT.

If you get a chance to try these products out, I’d love to hear from you. Maybe one of these days I’ll get to do a Baja road trip and test them myself!

Hey. I have used the Mexico maps for quite sometime and this one is a signifigant enhacement from prevois versions. In Veracruz it auto routes though the street coverage does miss some areas on the north and south sides of the city. It does have some POIs as well though doesnt have all POIs. A big enhacement over the last version for sure!

I have a TomTom One and I travel alot to and from Tijunan, Meixco. Looking for direction in TJ is tough and I always which my TomTom will work in TJ, is there TJ maps/navigation available for download for my TomTom?

    • Bill says:

There is at least one Mexico map available. I don’t know about TJ, but where I am it only covers the main roads.

  3. Rich Owings says:

No, there are no TomTom maps for Mexico.
