Magellan releases Crossover upgrade for 2200T

Crossover_upgrade_2
Magellan has posted the long awaited upgrade that will convert the Magellan RoadMate 2200T into a CrossoverGPS. Priced at $49, the upgrade was announced way back in January of this year.

The delay in making the Crossover upgrade available infuriated many customers, as can be seen from the angry comments left on the announcement post on GPS Tracklog. This is probably the most commented post on my website. Reminds me of the old marketing axiom that says if you have a good experience you’ll tell one person, but if you have a bad experience you’ll tell seven. This PR disaster even spawned its own message board.

Thanks to Tim for spotting this.

UPDATE: There are reports that people are paying for the upgrade, but not being provided with a download link. Seems like Magellan just can’t get this one right. You might want to wait a day or two and see how this plays out once people can reach tech support.
