Garmin article on Newsweek.com

There’s an article on Garmin on Newsweek.com today. With a tip of the hat to the song that kicked off MTV in 1981, the link from MSNBC used the teaser text, "did cell phones kill the GPS star?"

Fortunately, Newsweek pretty much gets it right when they say that, no, cell phones aren’t likely to kill off personal navigation devices. They correctly point to commoditization of prices as the biggest threat to Garmin, and focus quite a bit on how Garmin is working to maintain its status as a premium brand.

There’s not a whole lot of new info here, though there is a hint that Garmin may have a ski slope GPS up their sleeve!
