UPDATE: Read our Garmin Colorado 400t review.

REI has swung an exclusive deal on the brand new Garmin Colorado 400t
through February 11. Unfortunately, it’s not discounted, but as of this afternoon, they have it in stock online. If you can wait till after the 11th, other vendors will be discounting them, probably to around $530. But if you gotta have it now…

The REI in Saratoga, CA had these in stock and had already sold a few as of yesterday.
I got to try one out for a while and was very impressed by the graphics, and found the UI to be very intuitive. I know one buyer who reports random shutdowns but it might be confined to specific units. It looks like the geocaching function could use some tweaking as well.

This thing is garbage. Should never have left the factory. Don’t buy it.

    Tuller,
I know some people feel that way. Personally, I bought a 300 and like it, but it’s going to take some getting used to, and Garmin definitely needs to keep churning out the firmware upgrades for awhile. Some people will no doubt be happier with a 60CSx. I’m getting ready to do a cross country move, but am hoping I can get a full review posted before hand.

I thought it really couldn’t be as bad as some of the forums are saying with bugs & power issues. Bought it. Now I’m a believer. Its bad.
