Specialty GPS Buyers Guides

November 8, 2008 by Rich Owings

Over time, I've created resources for buyers of various types of GPS units, in addition to my auto and handheld GPS buyers guides. The specialty guides listed below are updated as appropriate, usually when newly introduced units have been reviewed.

I have been having a problem with my golflogix. When I turn it on it goes to “tracking satellites” and it stays there and is locked until I take the batteries out. It has been doing it for about 3 days.

How long have you tried? Did you recently move it hundreds of miles? Try leaving it on, under open sky for at least 30 minutes.

I am having troubles with the send to GPS feature. When I bring up the map with Bing, the route looks correct. But when I send it to my GPS (Zumo 450), it brings up different directions. I have changed all my preferences, and still I get a different route on the GPS.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Melody

The zumo 450 will recalculate the route. I think Bing is only sending waypoints. The only online mapping service that uploads routes, AFAIK, is Mapquest.
