Garmin has discontinued the nuvi 2×0 and 7×0 series, leaving the multi-use 5×0 series as the only nuvis without text-to-speech (EDIT: Oops, not quite). Earlier this year, the nuvi 8×0 series was discontinued as well.
This may or may not presage new arrivals in the marketplace. Most PND manufacturers seem to be taking a cautious approach to new introductions this year. Nevertheless, Garmin has cleared up a backlog of inventory; the most likely time for new product announcements would be at CeBIT early next month.
Regardless, you can expect to see more deals on these discontinued units as retailers clear out existing stock.

Almost… The 205 doesn’t have TTS.
hehe… I stand corrected.
I would expect that Garmin has something better coming on the market. Would be hard to believe they are not replacing products that have been so popular.

The Delorme was stolen thank goodness!!! in a smash and grab…what a problematic unit, never seemed to know where I actually was…usually a mile or so away…and customer service barely could speak english…wasted times with them. I bought the same unit as my spouse, a Nuvi 760 from Buydig.com/…terrific! Accurate, beats out The Lexus system “by miles”
Even though we both have Lexus cars with Navigation, the Lexus levels of detail are not very good, so we use ancillary devices to give us the “other” map/city/town names/info (depth/details) that we need as we travel the small towns, within the whole state of GA.
Highly recommend Nuvis, so have your delorme stolen, you’ll be glad you did.<just kidding about “stolen” but serious about my now, beloved, Nuvi 885T. (I will probably get the 1490T for my daughter for her Lexus too.)
