Garmin nuvi 465T screenshots

Nuvi 465T-L

UPDATE: Read my Garmin nuvi 465T review.

UPDATE 2: There is now a lifetime maps edition – the nuvi 465LMT.

Garmin’s nuvi 465T page is up, and they’ve posted screenshots which will give you hard-working truckers an idea of how the interface will work. First of all, note the squiggly road warning in the lower-left section of the screen above. Tapping it probably brings up a detailed warning screen as seen below.

You can also see that warnings show up in the next turn ahead field in the upper left, below.

And here’s the detail screen, warning of a low clearance structure ahead, showing its height.

Here’s the truck profile setup screen…

Finally, we have the main menu screen. I don’t recall seeing the route option show up on this screen on other nuvis; I just tried and couldn’t bring it up on the nuvi 885T that I’m currently testing. Also note the truck icon at the top of the screen, which seems to indicate that you can easily take it out of truck mode for times when you are using the 465T in the family car.

Its too bad that the 465t isn’t MSN Direct compatable, I think that truckers would benifit from the MSN Doppler overlay as well as the updated fuel prices, etc.

  2. Rich Owings says:

Yeah, how long before they announce a 485T?

  3. DAVID says:

IT WOULD BE NICE TO SEE FUEL PRICES, AND FUEL ROUTING FOR CHEAP FUEL.

Cobra just announced one this week (http://www.cobra.com/pages/commercial/pages/commercial/cobra-launches-professional-gps-tool), but I don’t know how good the quality will be. It wouldn’t surprise me for Garmin to have one in the next year.

Cobra is the worst peice of crap ever invented
they pass them self off as being trucker friendly but there not. The graphix is so bad you cant read it. they are always wrong and had me sent off to the wrong state, cant even get the states right. Had an older Garmin Nuvi that had the trucking option built in far from perfect but worked even better then copilot. Copilot is in a laptop form very stupid have to take your eyes off the road to see it and after your laptop has been on 14 or so hours they overheat and shut down, just at the point you really need it.
Part of the problem out there is all the new drivers that follow these things and not the road run then self into low bridges law suits come out and ruin it for all of us.
I was in SC and a trucker in front of me hit a low bridge on copilot, got out of the truck forgot the brake and got crushed.Copilot would of sent me to the same low bridge nuvi told me not to go. The low bridge sign is what you really need to follow.
