Is it possible to record the location, trip, etc. I want to drive? I had a similar experience with the 1490T. The unit directed me to go on a heavily traveled commercial route I preferred to avoid even though I knew there were alternates, shorter better, faster route. It seemed to me that the 1490T is programed to take you on commercial routes even though there were quicker shorter quicker routes to take at the times I was traveling. Also, another problem for me with this unit is putting non-requested commercial business advertisements on my viewed page. You have a good question for the Garmin people.
