Top 10 GPS for May 2009

There’s been a little shakeup in our top ten GPS rankings, partially due to moving the site, which has resulted in some traffic fluctuations. In the end though, changes in rankings due to this were relatively minor.

There were some jumps that appear to be more due to consumer interest though — on the auto side two voice command models made strong showings, with big gains for the Garmin nuvi 885T. The newly posted nuvi 855 also made the list. On the sport/handheld side, the DeLorme PN-40 continues to climb in the rankings, keeping Garmin from a clean sweep.

As usual, the rankings are based on the number of times each GPS review has been read here on GPS Tracklog.

  1. I am thinking about a GPS unit and have settled on either the Garmin Nuvi 255W, the Garmin 265WT or the TomTom XL340S. I am not particularily good at using these device. Which one would you recommend? Thanks

    • Frank R. says:

The Garmin 265WT is the way to go. My brother just got one a few month ago and the free traffic is great, especially on trips, in addition to it’s ease of use and 6 million POI’s.

  2. Rich Owings says:

Garmin definitely has the easiest user interface. If traffic is an issue, you might go for the 265WT.
