NAVIGON MobileNavigator app for iPhone
The first turn-by-turn iPhone navigation app for North America featuring on-board maps has been released by NAVIGON. Their MobileNavigator application differs from TeleNav’s AT&T Navigator in two very important ways:
- By having maps on-board, you still have navigation when you leave AT&T’s coverage area
- Mobile Navigator is available for a flat fee ($69.99 until August 15, $99.99 after that) whereas AT&T’s sticks you with a monthly fee of $9.99
Being in an area where AT&T’s notoriously weak coverage is even more tenuous, I haven’t had a chance to try it, but I do have links to early reviews:
