UPDATE: Several models have shown up at Amazon, confirming the 5″ screen size guess…(hat tip to GatorGuy)
- Garmin nüvi 2450
– 5″ screen
- Garmin nüvi 2450LM
– 5″ screen, lifetime map updates
- Garmin nüvi 2460LT
– 5″ screen, Bluetooth, lifetime traffic
UPDATE 2: Read my hands on review of the nuvi 2460LT.
I received a tip a little while ago, pointing me to a beta firmware update for a yet to be announced Garmin nuvi 24xx series; a quick search turned up one other reference to the 2400s.
A wide range of 22xx and 23xx models announced in early September should be hitting store shelves any day, but this is the first indication I’ve seen that 24xx models are on the horizon. So what should you expect from the 2400s? I could be wrong, but my money is on them following the 1200/1300/1400 numbering convention, bringing several 5” extra wide-screen models to the 2000 series. The image above is a 4.3” 2300 series model, but you get the idea. In addition to the bigger screen, you can expect a mid-range price, trafficTrends (Garmin’s new historical road speed database) and myTrends (the ability to learn your preferred routes). I’ll post more info as it becomes available. Jeez, I hope I didn’t just steal Garmin’s CES thunder!
Thanks to Allory.

The 2400′s are available for pre-order
