Comments and analysis

On the auto side, the top four are the same as last month when we looked at actual sales, though there was jostling within their ranks. Units with lifetime maps continue to demonstrate their popularity.

As for handhelds, things are a bit more interesting. First of all, the top two units outranked the top car units in terms of page views. I can’t recall that ever happening before; I guess folks’ thoughts are turning to spring! Also notable was the DeLorme PN-60W + SPOT dropping out, as well as the Geomate.jr. This is also the first time I can recall a list without a Forerunner. Then there is the big jump of the Garmin 62s, advancing five places to the number two spot. Finally, we see two Magellan eXplorists on the list now, despite the fact that my 710 review has barely been posted for a week.
