FAA: LightSquared GPS interference will kill 794 people

In one of the most damning reports yet, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has said  that the rollout of LightSquared’s terrestrial broadband service would cause an “estimated loss of life from 2014 to 2023 as a result of LightSquared impacts to GPS” totaling 794 deaths.

A TomTom VIA LIVE model has cleared the FCC, signaling the forthcoming arrival of a new mid-range connected device on this side of the pond. Available in Europe for six months  now, the VIA LIVE series should bring all sorts of connected goodness including Google Local search, weather, gas prices and HD traffic.
