Unless GoogleTrail is really coming from Google inc., it is as illegal as MOBAC was (that’s why they stopped to support Google maps and many others)…
Were they violating the API TOS? I’ve heard people say putting Google aerials on your GPS is an issue, but that’s personal use, and I don’t see how that violates their TOS.
The Google Maps Lat-Lon blog entry illustrating their new “fly to” feature inadvertently also illustrates the inadequacy of their data base. Their “Big Sur, CA” actually sends you to some separated cabins for tourists, away from Highway 1 where the actual Big Sur Post Office, stores, etc. are.
I wonder what database they’re using. USGS looks like it shows it as right on Highway One.
