  1. Hullo:
Please help! What am I not doing right? Garmin 650t. To learn how to use it. I decided to try easy Cache. One that is barely 600 feet from paved parking, and park like walking to get the Cache.
Turns out as I got near, around 40 to 50 feet, the Track ( magenta ) kept roatating about the marked point. I stopped to let the GPS reset to a particluar direction. Turns out it kept roating in circle 360 degree about the marked Cache point on Screen. The little Arrow Pointer never caught up with the or aligned with the rotating track. Do you suppose some electrical distrubance or so… There is no big electrical equipment there other than lights on Tennis Courts near the parking and that is 600 feet from hidden Cache,

    Thank you for your comments.

    • Are you using the Geocaching profile? That should help a lot.

Also, setting your map for North Up will prevent it from rotating.

Was this your first cache? How big is the cache?

Once you are within 30 feet or so, you’re better off forgetting the GPS and looking for a good place to hide the cache, view the hint, etc.
