I started seeing reports recently that the Garmin nuvi 3700 series will learn your preferred route, once you have deviated from a suggested route several times. I’m a bit surprised that Garmin didn’t hype this aspect of their myTrends feature, but they seem to take a low key approach and not highlight some features (like the fact that your nuvi takes into account your driving habits when calculating your ETA).

Garmin nuvi 3790T review
UPDATE: A new model, the Garmin nuvi 3490LMT, has superseded this one (despite the lower model number!).
Hands on with the best nuvi yet
The Garmin nüvi 3790T , introduced this summer, is Garmin’s latest and greatest navigator. With its 4.3” glass screen and minimalist 0.35” thickness, it resembles an iPhone more than past nuvis. In addition to most of the goodies found on previous models, the 3790T allows you to add a customizable wake up phrase for voice command, offers a gorgeous 3D terrain view, and is the first nuvi to use historical road speeds in calculating the fastest route.

The Garmin nuvi 3700 series has finally hit the US market, with GPS City now shipping the nuvi 3790T and 3760T. Amazon, which doesn’t seem to be able to move quite as fast as smaller vendors, is still showing a July 10 release date
The 3700 series has actually been out in the UK for almost 2 weeks, and you can start picking up user reviews on this page at GpsPasSion. The 3700 series owners manual (PDF) is also out now.

I’ve come across a number of nuvi 3700 series images over the last couple of days, including a lot that most of you probably haven’t seen, so I thought I’d compile them here. The European shots, including the one above, come from Pocket GPS World. The rest are from Garmin.com and the FCC. One other thing, before we get to the pics, GpsPasSion is reporting release dates from several web retailers, ranging from June 11 to August 15. So I’d say we still don’t have a good handle on the street date. read more
