Here is a list of current GPS deals

REI.com’s Winter Sale starts today and runs through Cyber Monday, November 26. This year they are offering several great deals including the Garmin Oregon 450 for $199.99, an eTrex 30 bundle for $249.99, the Garmin Forerunner 610 with Heart Rate Monitor for $299.99 and several options from the Magellan Switch series. Don’t wait too long though; they have been known to sell out on their holiday deals. Here’s the full list of specials.

Garmin Oregon 450

Getting the touchscreen Garmin Oregon 450 for $199.99 is an amazing deal. One of Garmin’s perennial best-sellers, this unit is very popular with hikers and geocachers.

Garmin eTrex 30

I’ve seen the Garmin eTrex 30 for $249.99 before, but not bundled with a case, a year’s subscription to BirdsEye satellite imagery and Garmin’s Topo US 100K maps.

Garmin Forerunner 610 with heart rate monitor

$299.99 is a very good price for the Garmin Forerunner 610 HRM combo, a high-end GPS sportswatch and the company’s first touchscreen Forerunner.

Magellan Switch series

The Switch and Switch Up represent Magellan’s first foray into the fitness market.

As if that weren’t enough, you’ll also get free shipping. And remember, at REI.com, satisfaction is guaranteed.

Thank you for supporting GPS Tracklog

By following the above links, I get a small fee with every purchase you make (it comes out of the merchant’s pocket, not yours). This is the only way I can justify the time and effort it takes to manage GPS Tracklog. You’ll be seeing quite a few deals show up here through the Monday after Thanksgiving; after that  they should slow significantly, and we’ll “return to our regular programing.” Thank you for your support, which allows me to keep bringing you the latest GPS reviews, news, tips and tricks!

Rich – the Oregon 450 deal is incredibly good. Normally the eTrex 30 and Oregon 450 are within $30 at REI, which suggests that Garmin would like us all to go touch screen. I’m tempted, but I’m wondering if you’ve heard anything about Garmin updating the 450 to include Glonass as well as GPS. It would sure seem logical for them to clear out the 450 now and introduce its successor in time for next hiking season – though I suspect they’ll charge another $50 for the extra functionality. If there really isn’t any advantage to the Glonass capability, maybe it makes sense to jump on it. What say you?

    • I expect that the Oregon series will be the next line to get an update and GLONASS capability. When that will happen is anyone’s guess, but I’m thinking sometime next year.

GLONASS is probably most useful in northerly latitudes and in urban or natural canyons.

      Hope this helps.
