Garmin Bluechart Mobile app

The Garmin BlueChart Mobile iOS app is now available for download from the App Store. This new app will allow your iPhone / iPad to function as a chartplotter using Garmin BlueChart maps. The app is free, while charts are available as an in-app purchase.

The app includes some weather data and also has a paid weather function that adds NEXRAD radar. The app will wirelessly connect with select Garmin chartplotters and allow you to upload and download waypoints, routes and tracks. The app also includes ActiveCaptain POI data. ActiveCaptain is a crowd sourced cruising guide with information about marinas and marine services. You will need a (free) ActiveCaptain account to download the database into the Garmin BlueChart app.

Comments

  1. Quite a good SCAM….. You need to repurchase all your charts from Itunes to use this program even if you have already purchased them for your plotter. Not mentioned in Garmins advertising either.
