Garmin adds LiveTrack feature to Fit app

Garmin has just announced a new LiveTrack feature for their Fit smartphone app, that allows you to share your location by email, Facebook or Twitter. At an in-app purchase price of $19.99 a year or $1.99 per month, I think they are going to sell a lot of these. There are enough runners and road bikers with anxious spouses that I think it will be a big hit.

Sure, there are other ways to go about this, some free, but this will probably work much better for most folks (I’m thinking of things like Google Latitude, which doesn’t update that often). And Garmin’s LiveTrack feature can even show heart rate data if you’re wearing an ANT+ heart rate monitor and have a compatible Android phone or the ANT+ iPhone adapter.

Here’s the full news release.

Just updated garminfit (running on Android 4.0.3 ICS) and just can’t connect to garmin connect. Says my login is wrong (even though the same login works at the web based environment). Any clue?
