GPS Business News has reported that TomTom has created a golf watch, which is expected to be released this month. According to reports, the watch was introduced during a press conference at the KLM Dutch Open last week. TomTom does not have any information on their site about the watch, but I found a little bit of leaked information.
From what it looks like, this watch takes after the TomTom Cardio running watch line in style, with a plastic band and Bluetooth technology. The screen is black and white and doesn’t look like a touch screen, and it is of note that TomTom’s other GPS watches don’t have touchscreens. The watch is expected to come pre-loaded with 34,000 golf course maps which will include distance for drives, locations of bunkers, obstacles and more. The phone will also, of course, function as a traditional clock and it looks like it will integrate with your phone via Bluetooth.
The watch is estimated to market in the $325 range. Since the watch hasn’t been formally announced, I don’t have any more information, but I’ll be sure to update you as soon as they release the watch.
