Well, it’s finally here. The TomTom Golfer, a GPS sports watch designed to help golfers measure their game and navigate the hazards of the green has been officially announced and is available for preorder in the UK. You might remember we talked a little bit about it a couple of weeks ago. Now, the watch has been officially announced and will be available soon for around $250. The TomTom Golfer comes preloaded with 34,000 popular golf courses around the globe. You can check golf course coverage here.
Other information that the watch can show includes precise yardage on the green, distance and previews of hazards on each hole, distances to lay-up points and score and distance tracking for your round. The watch is weather and waterproof, so if it starts drizzling, you haven’t got anything to fear.
The TomTom Golfer is lightweight and has an expected battery life of 10 hours when in GPS mode. It supports both GPS and GLONASS and can be synced with your phone for additional tracking and score features. The device can also be updated daily via wireless connection with a phone, ensuring that golfers always have up-to-date information.
Here’s what TomTom Consumer managing director Corinne Vigreux said in the press release:
“Understanding the challenges ahead will help golfers to improve their score. The TomTom Golfer provides at-a-glance graphics to critical course data helping golfers to make smarter decisions and improve how they play.”
Enlightening. However, if you want to get your hands on this device and you aren’t in the UK, it looks like you’ll just have to wait a little bit longer. I didn’t see a specific date for release to other countries, but it can’t be too long. I emailed TomTom yesterday with a request for more info, but they have not responded yet. When I get more info, I will update the article.
It’s so beautiful! Look like a iWatch from Apple, but with the color of golf. I pretty sure it’ll be the hit in 2015.
This blog was… how do I say it? Relevant!! Finally I have found something
which helped me. Thank you!
