Looks like Magellan is leaking some new models ahead of CES. We just learned of the RoadMate 5190T which, according to Engadget, will allow truckers to “set up customized routing based on their vehicles’ precise specifications,” pitting it squarely against the Garmin dezl series.
Also of note, the unit has a speaker that will kick out directions at 93 dB, which is hopefully enough to rise above that Peterbilt roar yet still within OSHA limits. Engadget also reports that the unit is designed for commercial truck, bus and taxi operators, leaving open the possibility for more specialized routing. The 5190T will retail for $380, although no release date has been set.
