Garmin to release innovative nuvi vent mount

Garmin nuvi GPS vent mount

Garmin’s forthcoming and innovative vent mount

Ever used a vent mount? Many people find them quite frustrating. According to GPS City, Garmin seems to think they’ve designed a better mousetrap…

Instead of the alligator-clip type of prongs, they have two padded fingers that open and close using a wheel. The padded fingers lay between the vent openings, and when the wheel is turned clockwise they securely close around the vent slat. To remove the mount simply turn the wheel the opposite way.

The new mount is expected to be available in early April and should be compatible with all 3.5″, 4.3″ and 5″ nuvis. Here’s the Garmin product page.

Comments

  1. I have never used a vent mount and I have always avoided them because I have not heard good things about them. I will take a close look at this and I might give it a try if the price is right.

  2. It is on the Garmin website already.
