Customize your Watch Face with Garmin

fenix lineup 2

Last week, Garmin International released a new app called “Face-It”. This app is available on both the Apple Store and Google Play. Face-It will essentially allow you to customize watch faces on wearable devices with access to Connect IQ.

Face-It will work with newer Garmin devices that are compatible with Connect IQ, including: Fēnix 3, Fēnix 3 HR, vívoactive, vívoactive HR, Forerunner 230, Forerunner 235, Forerunner 630, Forerunner 735XT, Forerunner 920XT, D2 Bravo, D2 Bravo Titanium, epix, quatix 3 and tactix Bravo.

Getting your custom watch face is simple. All you need to do is download the app then select any image from your mobile phone. You also have options for different clock styles, and custom fonts. Once you’ve got it all figured out, just send it wirelessly to your device.

“The Face-It app brings watch face customization to the fingertips of the user… with Face-It your watch face options are no longer limited to those available to everyone—you can completely personalize your device to reflect you,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin’s VP of worldwide sales

Garmin prides itself on being a pioneer for new technology relating to GPS navigation, wireless devices, and apps with an emphasis on living a healthy and active lifestyle. The devices, especially the wearables discussed in this article, are basically activity trackers. Many devices monitor things such as steps, calories, and sleep patterns. Some of them also offer GPS connectivity and tracks. Connect IQ works to extend the abilities of these devices with apps such as Face-It.

Connect IQ, for those who didn’t know, is a third party developer that works on apps specific for Garmin devices. It has created more than 2,000 apps in the last two years, and yields about 13 million downloads. Connect IQ focuses on newer devices, and offers applications that will help to extend the features and functionality of your device. The apps that Connect IQ create, including Face-It, are always free. Garmin stated it does not have plans of putting a price on these apps any time soon.

Happy personalizing!
