DigiTimes is reporting that Mio is going to introduce a GPS navigator / driving recorder. The idea is to record video, along with location data, as you drive — kind of a black box for cars. Uses of this technology have primarily been commercial so far, though you can expect to see more consumer applications.
While there was no mention of plans for the US market, I have to wonder if we won’t soon see this here, given that Mio and Magellan share the same parent company – MiTAC. Pricing is $226 USD equivalent. There was no mention of record time or memory.
