A Friday afternoon tweet is a low-key way to announce this, but it looks like the 6″ TomTom VIA 1605 M RV is now available in the US. Based on the 1605TM we reviewed, this new model has been available in Europe for several months as the GO LIVE Camper & Caravan.
The VIA 1605 M RV features routing for oversized vehicles, lifetime map updates for the US and Canada, and a 10% discount at KOA campgrounds.
Now that Magellan and TomTom are both going after this market, Garmin can’t be far behind!
Rich,
Have you heard any rumors about Garmin specificaly supporting the RV market…. was holding out for the NUVI 2797 but if Garmin comes up with something… maybe should wait longer
No; it’s just conjecture. They *may* announce something next week at the http://www.mountaingames.com/summer but if not it will probably be another year before we see one.
Scott, did you see this?… http://gpstracklog.com/2013/06/garmin-rv-760lmt.html
I did…. and wouldnt ya know I took delivery of my 2797LMT just last week….. 🙁 quite a different pricepoint where the 2797 was $269 and the new 760lmt is listed on the Garmin site for $399
Is it returnable?
Yes… returnable but might just wait till you review it!!!! 🙂
I don’t know that I’ll be reviewing the RV 760LMT. Do you have an RV and do you have any interest in reviewing it if I can get you a loaner?
Yes we have an RV and yes would love the opportunity to review the RV 760LMT!!!!
Ok, lets stay in touch as they get close to releasing it. GPS City is estimating July 14, but that date may slip.
Scott,
I just emailed you.
