We’ve been hearing for awhile now that the Magellan Cyclo series is coming to the US, and it has now cleared the FCC, complete with a manual for the Cyclo 315 and 505, so I suspect we’ll hear an official announcement soon.
In fact, DC Rainmaker is reporting that we’ll see them next month:
“I got confirmation from Magellan US that the Cyclo unit will be available in the US in the May time frame (next month)”
The Cyclo models should give Magellan a strong competitor to the Garmin Edge series, and this is definitely a category that could use some competition.
I’m an active mountain biker, hitting the trails a couple of times a week, but I’ve never been a huge fan of the Edge series, which is geared more towards stats and fitness than backcountry navigation. I’l be curious to see if the Cyclo series would be a better fit for me.
I am also an MTB rider and would love to see Garmin get some real competition. I am tired of Garmin’s lack of interest in details and inability to “finish” existing products before releasing new ones.
Valuable info. Lucky me I found your website by accident. I bookmarked it. This article is genuinely good and I have learned lot of things from it concerning blogging. thanks.
