UPDATE: Read our hands on review of the Approach S2.
The Garmin Approach S2 is being announced this morning, the third wrist-top golf GPS by the company. A mid-range unit, the same size and shape as the Approach S1, the S2 adds a digital scorecard and scorecard review.
The S2 comes with 30,000 worldwide courses preloaded, whereas the S1 is limited to North America. The Approach S3 adds a touchscreen and a few additional features like manual pin positioning. You can compare all three models here.
“In addition to measuring distances to the front, back and middle of the green (like the Approach S1), the S2 features layup and dogleg distances at a glance.” It also “measures individual shot distances and precise yardage to the front, back and middle of the green, and for those who walk the course, there is an odometer to tell golfers how far they have walked.”
The S2 is available in multiple color options (white/grey, black/red, purple/white, shown below). Like all Garmin golf GPS models, lifetime course updates are included, with no subscriptions or fees.
Available in March 2013 at an MSRP of $249.99, the S2 will be carried by specialty golf retailers and golf course pro-shops. UPDATE: Here’s the full news release.
For GPS golf rangefinder, I always prefer S series because each and every product of this series provides great features for a user. Also it offers convenient range of rangefinders for all golfers. Beautiful blog.
