With more than 3,500 rescues under its belt, this GPS location company is one of the more popular options for outdoor enthusiasts.
Well, as summer approaches, Spot has debuted several discounts for customers looking to get out and explore mother nature in the beautiful weather ahead. Now through September 14, 2015, Spot is offering mail-in rebates. Here are the discounted devices:
- 50% off Spot Gen 3 (regularly priced at $149.99)
- 50% off Spot Trace (regularly priced at $99.99)
- Free Spot Global Phone (regularly priced at $599.99; qualifying plan purchase required)
In order to take advantage of these deals, you must purchase a device for full price, purchase a service plan and then fill out a rebate form online or mail one in. All rebates must be postmarked by October 30, 2015.
Service Plans
Each of the devices requires a service plan, usually a yearly expense. Spot does, however, have a referral plan which will grant you 20% off of your yearly service for each friend that activates a plan. Refer 5 plans, and it’ll be free! Here are the service plans required for each device:
Spot Gen 3 – There are three different service options for the Spot Gen 3. The basic service is $150 per year and from there you can choose to upgrade for additional tracking and benefits. Upgrades range from $20 – $150.
Spot Trace – The basic service for Spot Trace is $100 per year, with an optional $100 upgrade to include more frequent tracking.
Global Phone – For the Global Phone, you must purchase a monthly or yearly plan and activate the device to qualify for the rebate. Monthly plans are priced at $65, $100 or $150 per month with a 12 month contract. Alternatively, you could sign up for a yearly plan and pay for it all at once. Yearly plans are priced at $780, $1200 or $1800.
