Garmin to Open Stores in Miami

Personally, I tend to prefer brick and mortar stores over shopping online. I’m one of those old-fashioned people who wants to actually hold it in my hand so I know exactly what I’m getting but as far as GPS units goes, Garmin does most of its business online so for the most part, that’s not really an option. However, if you live in Miami, you might soon be able to do just that.

According to a press release, Garmin is looking to open a new store in Miami, Fla. The new 2,600 square-foot Garmin store will be located at the Lincoln Road Mall in Miami. Garmin describes the location to feature “conceirge-like customer service” plus all of the newest Garmin products in all of Garmin’s operating sectors—wellness, running, cycling, golfing, marine, automotive and outdoor recreation.

“The Garmin stores are located in high volume traffic areas that draw a mix of locals and travelers from around the globe,” said Dan Bartel Garmin vice president of worldwide sales in the press release. “Customers can engage with a team of knowledgeable Garmin associates who can answer questions, demonstrate products, and help select the perfect device. It’s another way to demonstrate that Garmin has a very diverse product portfolio with devices that can benefit virtually anyone who leads an active lifestyle.”

Additionally, Garmin has also outlined plans to open a kiosk-format showcase in the Aventura Mall. The mall is located between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, and is the third largest mall in the United States. The kiosk will feature popular Garmin products as well.

There was no notice as when, exactly, the Miami store will be open, so if you live in that area definitely keep your eyes peeled! Garmin currently operates a large store in Chicago and has stated that it intends to continue operations in the Windy City, as the store is quite popular.
