Amazon testing GPS drones for 30 minute delivery

I know there’s been a lot of Amazon deal posts on the site lately, but I couldn’t resist posting about this…CEO Jeff Bezos was on 60 Minutes Sunday night, unveiling Prime Air — GPS drones (AKA unmanned aerial vehicles), delivering your orders within 30 minutes.

Are they serious? In a word — yes. The FAA has a temporary ban on commercial use of drones, but it looks like Amazon wants to be ready as soon as that is lifted:

We hope the FAA’s rules will be in place as early as sometime in 2015. We will be ready at that time.
