Globalstar emergency GPS devices have now been used to help locate and rescue over 3000 people! This latest rescue involved a couple of ATV riders in Colorado out of cell phone range that had a problem. They used the SOS button and the SPOT GPS was able to contact help and provide the location to law enforcement.

They have over 200,000 of the units in use, and an average of 1 person is rescued each day with them.

  1. You should check the quality of Gps tracking software and also note the battery of device which is more important for your vehicles location and fleet management. Gps tracking device should be support to your vehicles also. You can easily track your vehicles location through these software.

  2. I think the Globalstar emergency GPS devices is a must have item to include in every hiker’s backpack. Having an emergency contact is so important.
    Thanks for the article.

  3. Is gpstracklog dead???

  4. There’s an off-duty firefighter who is lost in the mountains near Fillmore, CA right now whom I am sure wishes he had used this. He ran off while hiking and was barefoot in shorts and a t-shirt to try to find his dog who had ran off. Very sad. Thanks for this article and sharing these units.
