UPDATE: Though still available and supported, Garmin has discontinued the nuvi 350. For newer models, check out my Garmin nuvi comparison chart.
The Garmin nuvi 350 has proven to be an incredibly popular touch-screen GPS navigator. Garmin bills the nuvi as a “a Personal Travel Assistant™ that combines a GPS navigator, language translator and travel guide capability, an MP3 player, an audio book player, a currency and measurement converter, a world clock, and a digital photo organizer.” The nuvi has the newest generation of GPS chipsets, the SiRFSTAR III, resulting in fast satellite lock and improved reception. It also speaks street names, so you’ll get “turn left on Highway 128” instead of “turn left in 200 feet.”
Stepping up to the nuvi 360 adds Bluetooth for hands free cell phone use.

I’m about to buy a Nuvi but I cannot find one piece of information.
Does any Nuvi model have a video out port and is it possible to send the Nuvi graphic display through this port to a computer screen?
Thanks in advance
Peter Reuter
No. Are you wanting to navigate on a large(e.g., laptop) screen, or wanting to capture a screenshot from the nuvi?
Rich,
I want to be able to capture screen shots. Is there a way to do this?
Thanks
peter
Yes, I’m pretty sure this is built into the 350. Try Settings > Display > Screenshot. It should bring up a camera icon on the screen. Tap it to take a screenshot. You can then retrieve them via USB under the folder Screenshot.
Hi,
I have nuvi350 which has north american map on it. I would like to add Europe map on it. Garmin website says that i can add(?) europe map by SD card if i buy one. However, i guess the european map is something like more than 1GB so how i can add it as I see only 500MB available on my nuvi? Thanks a lot. Madhu
You’re looking at internal memory. Just slide the SD card in and leave it there.
I purchased a garmin350 about 4 months ago and love it. Planning a trip to Italy in the fall and purchased the European City Navigator and Southern Europe Travel Guide on SD cards. Will they operate more effectively if I download the Travel Guide so when the mapping SD card is inserted it can interact with the Travel Guide? Or are they completely independent. We will have two compatable GPS devices so each can be loaded with one of the SD cards if they don’t interact. Side Note: The Travel Guide appears to have a ‘Go To’ button, but all the info I’ve obtained indicates it doesn’t direct you to your destination. Does the ‘Go To’ button not work? Much thanks for any advice.
I’m not sure. Perhaps this will hlp… http://www.gpsmagazine.com/2007/05/review_garmin_travel_guide_fod.php
I recently purchased a Garmin 275T and thought I saw somewhere while researching GPS units, that this model supported receiving directions on the car radio speakers from the unit. Is this possible on this model? The user’s manual doesn’t address this issue.
Thanks
The 275T has no FM transmitter or audio out jack, so there is no way to do it with this model. The 775T does have this capability.
Is there any way to add more than one waypoint per trip in th nuvi 350
You can add one via point, essentially giving you two waypoints. To do more, you need a nuvi that does multi-destination routing…

Is there a pn-formated map for Delorme pn 40 gps; if not any way-out and can some one suggest, please. Thanks.
Yes, I believe some pre-formatted topo maps come with the unit (on disc).
Concerning the audio out jack, can you get the voiced directions OR does it only play music? If it will give the directions by the audio out it would make a great (and much cheaper) contender with the Zumo for motorcycle use IF used with a RAM aqua box.
Yes, it should pause any audio playing and give you voice prompts for directions.
