UPDATE: This deal is still live on their site as of 11/27, so I’m leaving it up for now.
UPDATE 2: It looks like this sale has been extended thru Monday, December 2, at least for the 62s, which is out of stock but can be backordered.
REI.com is first out of the blocks with a big holiday sale, with the Garmin GPSMAP 62s for $199.99 and the Forerunner 210 with heart-rate monitor for $169.99 (men’s and women’s models available). These are both extremely good deals. The sale runs from today through Sunday November 24, but it is always possible that they will sell out of one or both items before then.
They may start another sale on the 25th, but I don’t expect these two models to be included if they do.

Thank you for supporting GPS Tracklog
By following the above link(s), I get a small fee with every purchase you make (it comes out of the merchant’s pocket, not yours). This is the only way I can justify the time and effort it takes to manage GPS Tracklog. Thank you for your support, which allows me to keep bringing you the latest GPS reviews, news, tips and tricks!
Thanks for the heads up. I have a 60csx and this price is killer so upgrade? or spring for the new oregon? or take a deep breath and wait for a (hopeful) deal on the monterra? which is pricier by at least triple. Take care.
There’s always something newer and pricier available. The 62s is still my favorite, but I’m a mountain biker and like the ability to toggle screens on the fly with a button, and not have to look at where I’m touching it.
Dunno about stores, but REI seems to have sold out of 62s online:
> Camping & Hiking >GPS Units >Handheld GPS
> Garmin GPSMAP 62s GPS
> This item is currently sold out or unavailable online.
It now says “out of stock but can be backordered.”
