An early Google Street View van
This week in GPS is a weekly link roundup of (mostly) GPS related odds and ends, from GPS Tracklog and other places around the Web. To get a few of the biggest stories as they break, follow me on Twitter. Today’s lead image is from a cool history of Google Street View.

Updated GPS reviews
I’ve updated these review and resource pages with the following links:
- Garmin nuvi 2495LMT — Techday takes a look at this popular auto model
- Garmin nüvi 3590LMT — ITWeb reviews this high-end model
- Magellan Switch Up — MarathonMTB reviews this sports unit
The ‘Just Geo’ article above about gun deaths vs car deaths does not use any facts or real statistics, and amounts to little more than propaganda for the anti-gun agenda.
The story is not even GPS related in any way, shape or form.
I expect better from GPSTrackLog.
No, it’s not GPS-related, but I do try to include interesting maps each week in the Just Geo section. They seem to be citing CDC data.
I used Garmin Express last week to update a new nüvi 3590LMT & the CNNANT 2013.40 map update and it worked just fine on Windows 8/64bit.
