Garmin has certainly upset their customers before, but few things have raised the ire of folks as much as the inability to clear the trip log on the 2012 and 2013 nuvi Essential series (including the popular 50LM model). TomTom rolls out 7″ Android tablet for fleets
TomTom has announced the Bridge, a 7″ ruggedized Android device for fleet managers. The tablet-like device will include an NFC chip, 5MP camera, Bluetooth, WiF, a 3G modem, rear camera compatibility, and a replaceable battery. read more
Magellan announces Android-based PND
Magellan has announced their first Android-based personal navigation device (PND), the 5″ Magellan RoadMate 5430T-LM. Previous RoadMates have used Windows CE as the underlying operating system. read more

Magellan intros RoadMate with integrated dash cam
Looks like Magellan wants to get into the dash cam act too, albeit with a twist. Rather than a standalone unit like the one announced by Garmin this morning, Magellan has opted to add one to a PND, the RoadMate 6230T-LM PND DashCam. read more
Magellan announces connected RV unit
Magellan has announced the 7″ RoadMate RV9490T-LMB, which offers live weather and gas prices via a Bluetooth connection to a smartphone. Information can also be preloaded via WiFi. read more

The US will finally get the new TomTom GO series, perhaps within a year of when they were announced for Europe. The company still hasn’t released model numbers, saying “more details, pricing and availability will be announced closer to the launch date late Q1 2014.” read more

Traffic: TomTom vs Garmin
