Garmin discontinues older nuvi models

Discontinued_nuvi

With so many nuvis in the marketplace, it was bound to happen sooner or later. Garmin has now discontinued it’s earliest nuvi models, including all of the 300 series and most of the 600 series. The discontinued models are as follows:

We might see further price reductions in these models as Garmin clears out its stock.

Which leaves us with the nuvi 200, 2×0, 500, 700 and 800 series — still plenty to choose from. And I suspect that we’ll see some new models announced next month and on store shelves before the holidays.

UPDATE: I asked a contact at Garmin about support and firmware updates for discontinued models and they told me that "we continue to support the product and that support includes firmware updates when we find something that warrants an update."
