GPS City is a favorite of many of our readers, and with good cause. Their holiday sale is one of the most eagerly awaited and they have not disappointed us. The best deals may be on the GPSMAP 62s and the Approach S1 golf GPS, but there are plenty of others too. There is no ending date posted for the sale, so we don’t know if it’s through Black Friday or Cyber Monday The sale ends Monday, but everything is listed as “while supplies last.” Also notable is the fact that they offer free shipping on orders over $24.99, and there is no sales tax (except in NV). Garmin nuvi 1490T among the discontinued
Garmin has discontinued much of their popular nuvi 1xxx line ahead of the holidays. Introduced in March 2009, these units were getting quite dated. All 5″ models survived the cut except for the 1490T. Similarly, all LMT units survived save the 1300LMT. Their strategy here appears to be keeping the top sellers

REI.com’s Winter Sale starts today and runs through Cyber Monday, November 26. This year they are offering several great deals including the Garmin Oregon 450 for $199.99, an eTrex 30 bundle for $249.99

Here’s a great deal on the SPOT Connect, a satellite communicator that pairs with your smartphone and allows you to compose and send messages on the fly, summon search and rescue and post to social networks, all without a cellphone signal. You can also use it in stand-alone mode to send an SOS. Through December 31st, you can get a $50 mail-in rebate when you buy the SPOT Connect for at least $149.95 (it isn’t valid if it’s on sale). Also note that the rebate requires activation, which runs $99.99 per year. read more
