Well, Cyber Monday is finally here, and the sales are still going strong. A lot of these units are limited stock, so if you’re in the market, there are some pretty sweet savings to be had. While Black Friday is one of the best times to purchase otherwise expensive electronics like GPS units, I normally can’t stand the rush and the crowds. Even with the phoenominal sales, it usually just isn’t worth the insane rush and the rude people.

I saw yesterday that REI currently has the Garmin Oregon 600 marked down to $250 from the normal $400 sale price. I’m not sure when the reduced price launched or when it will expire, so if you’re in the market for a great outdoor GPS unit for someone on your Christmas list (or even for yourself) then I might suggest taking advantage of it when you can. read more
Provided you are willing to fork out the money, Sygic is one of the better navigation and mapping applications for your smartphone available. Normally, I would say that the price is a little prohibitive for most but if you have been eyeing this application, then this might be your lucky day.
Sygic is celebrating reaching the 55 million user benchmark by having a 55% off sale on their World maps (marking them from $125.99 down to $55.99). While it’s still a chunk of change, if you find yourself travelling a lot, then it might just be worth the money, especially with such a hefty discount. Many of their regional maps are also reduced by 50% in honor of this landmark achievement. According to their site, this discount will be available until October. read more

GPS of any kind can be terribly expensive, but this Sunday Aldi will be offering their multi-sport GPS watch for a bargain. Priced at £65, this watch, unfortunately, appears to only be offered in the UK and has several impressive features for the price. The creatively named Unisex GPS Watch has five different training modes for running, hiking, cycling, sailing and a blank mode for users to create their own. The watch offers GPS navigation with waypoints, distance and speed measurement as well as a compass, an altimeter and the ability to track pace and time goals. The watch comes with a chest strap to measure heart rate, a bike mount, a USB data transfer cable and some software to help evaluate data. It’s water resistant and comes in three colors with a free three year warranty and a 60 day return policy–I’m not sure what else you could ask for that price.
This isn’t Aldi’s first trek into the world of GPS watches, so hopefully it will be available in other countries soon! If you want it, though, you’ll have to get there early.
