Seven-inch screens must be working for Magellan since they continue to roll out new ones. Today’s announcement focuses on models for RVs, with four three new RoadMates all pre-loaded with the Good Sam Trailer Life Directory and Good Sam discount locations (I’m not counting the Pro 9165-T as new, since it’s been around awhile). An A/V input is offered for a DVD player or backup camera, and the screen will automatically switch to the latter when you put your gargantuan home away from home into reverse.

New Magellans bring Landmark Guidance
UPDATED with availability info below.
Big news today from Magellan, which (AFAIK) becomes the first GPS manufacturer in the US to deliver what they are calling “Landmark Guidance.” They define it this way, saying it:
…gives drivers an easier way to navigate to their destinations. Instead of presenting the driver only with street names that may be hard to locate and read, the Magellan RoadMate GPS tells drivers to turn at familiar landmarks such as gas stations, banks, stores or other large, easily-seen places.
Magellan RoadMate RV9145 for your home away from home
Magellan has leaked another new device, the Roadmate RV9145. Targeting (of course) RV owners, this 7” behemoth offers the Good Sam Trailer Life Directory, replete with 11,700 US and Canadian campground locations. You’ll also be able to plug in your road beast’s height, width and weight, hopefully helping you avoid any sticky situations. No word on a street date but the RV9145 should retail for $329.99 $349.99.
Magellan RoadMate 5190T targets truckers, Garmin dezl
Looks like Magellan is leaking some new models ahead of CES. We just learned of the RoadMate 5190T which, according to Engadget, will allow truckers to “set up customized routing based on their vehicles’ precise specifications,” pitting it squarely against the Garmin dezl series.
Magellan RoadMate 1424
The Magellan RoadMate 1424 is one of Magellan’s most popular 4.3” models, thanks to a bargain basement price. Despite the fact that this is an entry-level unit, it comes with preloaded maps of the entire US and Canada, as well as Magellan’s popular OneTouch feature.
Magellan RoadMate 3030-LM
The Magellan RoadMate 3030LM is one of Magellan’s most popular models as I write this, thanks to its low price, extra-wide 4.7” screen and lifetime maps updates. read more
Magellan RoadMate 5045-LM
The Magellan RoadMate 5045-LM is Magellan’s most popular model as I write this, and with good reason. It offers an ultra-wide 5” screen, along with lifetime traffic and lifetime map updates, all for a very reasonable price. read more
Magellan RoadMate 5175T-LM review
Hands on with the WiFi-enabled Magellan RoadMate 5175T-LM
UPDATE: I’ve added a response from Magellan.
The Magellan RoadMate 5175T-LM is a new unit from Magellan, whose most notable feature is WiFi, so I’ll focus on that in my review. It has a 5” screen with accelerometer, allowing you to use it in landscape or portrait orientation. And as the T-LM implies, it comes with traffic and lifetime map updates.
Magellan intros backup camera for RoadMate 1700 and 9055
Magellan has announced their backup camera, as previously promised for their RoadMate 9055 and 1700 models. It isn’t showing up on Amazon yet, but should be there soon. As you can see above, the camera attaches at the top or bottom of the license plate and transmits wirelessly to the aforementioned 7” models. The camera provides a 120-degree view and is waterproof and dustproof to IPX67 standards, while the transmitter is water resistant to IPX4. MSRP is $149.99.
RV/Truck-friendly Magellan RoadMate Pro 9165T
Magellan just keeps rolling out new models, faster than even I can keep up with. Most notable in this current crop is the RoadMate Pro 9165T, a 7” model with all the bells and whistles that caters to the RV and trucker crowd. And as you can see above, we now have another RoadMate with speed limit display.
